Brazil's Azul could file again for an initial public offering (IPO) as early as in the first quarter of 2015, after it withdrew its IPO in August 2013.
The airline is unlikely to file for an IPO later this year due to the elections in Brazil in October, Azul chief executive David Neeleman tells Flightglobal.
"There's a window that starts in December," he says, "It will most likely be sometime in the first quarter of next year."
Azul filed for an IPO in May 2013 but withdrew it in August 2013, citing adverse market conditions.
Neeleman emphasises that the airline does not "need" to go public, but adds: "Our shareholders like the ability to have liquidity on their investment."
Azul reported a full-year operating profit of R8.64 million ($3.82 million) in 2012, according to regulatory documents. The airline is scheduled to launch its first international flights from December to the USA.
