Bergamo, Italy-based AzzurraAir is to convert its charter fleet to Airbus A320s, replacing five Boeing 737-700s (pictured). The first two A320s, six of which are to be leased from GATX, will join from April. Four BAE Systems Avro RJ70s and three RJ85s operating scheduled flights will remain in service. Air Malta, which owns 49% of Azzurra, reportedly wants to rationalise on one aircraft type and it is replacing two of its four A320s, seven 737-300s and two 737-200s with seven A319s and five new A320s.
