Boeing has won a $14 million contract from Rockwell to upgrade the main avionics-system computers aboard the B-1B bomber as part of the aircraft's conventional-weapons programme. The new system will provide growth for future enhancements such as on-board mission planning, real-time "information-in-the-cockpit", and map-aided terrain-following. Total potential value of the programme, which runs until 2001, is $125 million.
