British Airways has today completed its acquisition of French all-premium transatlantic carrier L’Avion, which it bought for £54 million ($108 million).

The UK operator is to integrate L’Avion with its own OpenSkies premium carrier by early next year.

L’Avion had been operating services between Paris Orly and Newark, while OpenSkies serves the Orly-New York JFK route.

British Airways’ acquisition included taking £26 million of cash in the French carrier’s business.
