British Airways is launching a franchise operation in southern Italy. National Jets Italia. The new airline will operate from Rome Fiumicino, serving Palermo. BA and National Jets head Warren Seymour have been trying to get the project off the ground for a number of years. Roger Maynard, BA's director of investments and joint ventures, says BA hopes to repeat the success it has experienced with South Africa's Comair.
