British Airways is the sole outstanding airline customer for the Airbus A318 following US Airways' decision to cancel its last three of the type.
Fifteen A318s had originally been destined for America West Airlines before its merger with US Airways, but 12 of these were scrubbed from the Airbus orderbook a year ago. Airbus's backlog for January shows that the last three A318s have also been removed.
Out of the remaining total orders for 83 of the type, 67 have been delivered, but 14 of the remaining 16 aircraft are listed as being among the 23 collectively taken by corporate customers.
Only British Airways is listed as an A318 airline customer. The carrier has two on order, both of which are due for delivery this year to operate all-premium transatlantic services from London City airport.
