US simulator systems manufacturer Evans & Sutherland is riding high at the show following the announcement that British Airways (BA) is to buy, for a second time this year, an E&S visual system for its third B777 training simulator.

The order comes just a month after the same image generation and projection system went into service on BA's new A320 simulator at the flag carrier's London Heathrow training centre.

The A320 simulator is BA's most sophisticated to date, says Capt Colin Stephens. "With an E&S system, we are looking forward to a similarly excellent device on our third B777 simulator," he says.

Evans & Sutherland (E527), based in Salt Lake City has been BA's preferred visual systems supplier for almost two decades. Its technology is the most widely used for full flight simulators in the world, compatible with the systems of all major flight simulator manufacturers.

The new A320 full-flight simulator in London was manufactured by CAE.
