Flying Colours says that it is in detailed negotiations with British Airways to take over a contract now undertaken by Caledonian Airways, which would see it flying scheduled services on behalf of the UK flag carrier under a franchise agreement between London Gatwick and San Juan in Puerto Rico, Nassau in the Bahamas, Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands and Tampa in Florida, in mid-1997. The new UK charter airline will begin operations next March with three Boeing 757s on lease. Flying Colours would lease a McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30 from BA for the scheduled contract.
