The Finnish Government is considering selling a further large stake in Finnair, with British Airways (BA) tipped as an investor in its fellow oneworld carrier.

Helsinki holds a 58% stake in the airline, and according to regulations can reduce its share to 50.1%. However, it is considering cutting its holding to significantly below half, and has appointed Credit Suisse First Boston as an adviser.

BA has previously said it would consider acquiring a stake in Finnair, which joined the oneworld alliance last December.
