British Airways has warned that its fuel bill for the 2005-6 financial year will be around £400 million ($745 million) more than last year, £100 million above its previous estimates. The carrier's 2004-5 fuel bill was up 22% to £1.13 billion. The revised estimate came as BA posted operating profits up by a third to £540 million on a turnover of £7.8 billion, which was up by 3.3%.
