BAE Systems is expanding its sensor portfolio, acquiring electro-optical systems and multispectral sensor company OASYS Technology.
The terms of the agreement were not released. The deal is expected to close by the end of the calendar year, BAE says.
Based in Manchester, New Hampshire, OASYS specialises in rugged electro-optical systems for land, sea, air, and space applications in military, laboratory instrumentation and optical assemblies. Last February, OASYS won a $10.6 million U.S. Navy contract develop a multispectral sensor suite for advanced imaging in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). BAE says the company also expects to tap into the in day/night surveillance, targeting systems and precision guidance with the OASYS purchase.
