The Communications & Defence division of BAE Systems Avionics Tactical Products in Christchurch, UK has been awarded a three year contract, with an option to extend to seven years, to support the UK's Satellite Anchor Station System. The work involves supporting the UK Military Satellite Communications System anchor stations at RAF Oakhanger, Colerne and Defford. The current UK military satellites are a fleet of Skynet 4s and a new series of Skynet 5 satellites are planned.
