BAE Systems' and Finmeccanica's defence electronics divisions are to be brought together in a joint venture. Eurosystems will have a central strategic co-ordination committee and three majority-controlled joint ventures, designed to "respond to the demand for highly integrated systems". The three areas of co-operation will be a BAE-led systems integration and command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) business; a Finmeccanica-led communications systems business; and a joint avionics team.
