AMEUR Aviation Technologie, the Corsican-based kitplane builder, has conducted a series of successful test flights since mid-July of a heavily redesigned production prototype of its two-seat Balbuzard. The composite aircraft had its maiden flight in 1995, powered by a 60kW (80hp) Rotax 912A. The new prototype has a 90kW Lycoming 0-235 and includes a series of design changes from the original aircraft. Among these are a larger wingspan, winglets, a lowered wing, raised undercarriage and a redesign of the retractable tricycle landing-gear.
