The Russian Government has issued a five-year waiver for customs fees for the Boeing 757s operated by Baikal Air of Irkutsk and McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30s flown by Kras Air of Krasnoyarsk. Baikal leased its 757 in 1994 from US company IRLC, and since then, local customs authorities arrested the aircraft several times, blocking its normal operations and demanding that customs fees be paid.
