Crispin Mackay has been awarded the 1997 Flight International Barnett & Piercey Flying Scholarship. Mackay, who was in the Air Training Corps for four years, aims to become a commercial pilot. He plans to use his scholarship flying as a stepping stone to a private pilot's licence and hopes to carry it out at the Ravensair Flying Club at Manchester Airport.
