The US Departments of Commerce and Justice are conducting an investigation into BE Aerospace's 1992 and 1993 sales of passenger seats for installation on aircraft owned by Iran Air. The company says that it applied for and received an export licence from the Department of Commerce, but understands that the investigation centres on whether the terms of the licence were strictly adhered to. The US has trade sanctions in operation against Iran.
