`INDIA IS CONSIDERING fitting the British Aerospace Sea Eagle anti-ship missile to its fleet of Tupolev Tu-142M Bear F maritime-patrol aircraft.

The Indian navy has already carried out carriage trials of the Sea Eagle on an Ilyushin Il-38 in May. The missile is used on Westland Sea King helicopters and a variant of the Sepecat Jaguar aircraft operated by the air force in the maritime-strike role. The Indian navy is also thought to have considered fitting the Zvezdha Kh-35 anti-ship missile to its Bears.
