The Belgian Defence Force is integrating all flying training at Beauvechain, formerly a Belgian air force air base and home of 1 (Training) Wing. The Wing was reactivated after being disbanded as an Interception Wing when Lockheed Martin F-16s from its 349 and 350 squadrons were reallocated to 2 and 10 Wings at Florennes and Kleine Brogel air bases. The base will be used to train Army Light Aviation pilots, who previously received elementary training together with air force pilots at the Belgian air force Elementary Flying Training school at Goetsenhoven airfield
