The ILA 2004 Berlin air show was held from 10-16 May with a cloud of uncertainty once again hanging over the event's relevance in the global aerospace calendar. Strong backing from EADS, its subsidiaries and German suppliers continued to prop up the show despite the absence of international heavyweights such as BAE Systems, Boeing, Dassault and Embraer. Organisers reported only 69,000 trade visitors over the first four days, compared with 65,000 over the opening three days in 2002. Reports by Andrew Doyle, Craig Hoyle, Peter La Franchi and Murdo Morrison
