The US Air Force's Rome Laboratory is to demonstrate the use of airborne bi-static-radar technology to improve theatre air-defence. A flying test-bed, equipped with a phased-array antenna, will be used to detect, track and identify targets illuminated by existing ground-based surveillance radar.
