Turkey's defence ministry has extended the bidding phase for its army attack helicopter project from 10 June to 10 September following requests from potential suppliers. Ankara plans to buy 50 aircraft and take 41 options in a project worth $1.5 billion. Among the likely candidates under consideration are the AgustaWestland A129 International, Bell AH-1Z King Cobra, Boeing AH-64 Apache, Denel Rooivalk, Eurocopter Tiger, Kamov Ka-50 and Mil Mi-28.
