Honeywell (E712) is promoting its new CD-820 flight management (FMS) Control Display Unit (CDU) which offers size, weight, power and display improvements over its predecessors. It will be available in February 2000.

The CD-820 has a large, full-colour, 13.8in Active Matrix LCD and is designed to interface with Honeywell's One View system, Airshow and other existing and future cabin entertainment systems.

When used with Honeywell's new FMS version 6.0 software and interfaced with other units, the CD-820 offers additional features such as graphical weather (with Teledyne's Telelink) as well as graphical terrain data (with Allied Signal's Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System).

Single button selection of video, graphics and air traffic control (ATC) offers the pilot easy access to belly or landing gear cameras, weather or Communications, Navigation and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) driven air traffic control.
