The demands for increased safety and efficiency in aircraft manufacture has driven the innovative approach to fasteners by SchwarzVerbindungs Systeme (Hall 2B, E13).
Titanium panel fasteners are being manufactured for the Airbus A380 while other components use rubber to ensure minimal mechanical friction between fasteners and panels.
"Our aim is to produce products that enhance a passenger's flight experience as much as possible," says general manager Walter Kobler. "For instance, decreased mechanical friction means less noise in the cabin. Titanium fasteners also help decrease aircraft weight.
