NASA's Chandra X-Ray Observatory may have found evidence of a supermassive black hole in the centre of the galaxy. The discovery was made by monitoring a brief X-ray outburst 50 times brighter than the sun in the region of the constellation of Sagittarius. This may have come from a comet-sized object as it disappeared down the suspected black hole.
