Marion Blakey has been confirmed as the US Federal Aviation Administration's new administrator, replacing Jane Garvey who left in early August. Blakey's appointment was confirmed by the US Senate. She was formerly head of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board She takes up her FAA position this week.
