Former Rolls-Royce Tay project director Richard Smallwood has been appointed to the management board of German-based engine manufacturer BMW Rolls-Royce from 1 August. A production-engineering graduate with a master's degree in business studies, Smallwood has been working in the commercial field at R-R since 1986. He joins the Oberursel based company as successor to David Evans, who has retired. Evans was the board member responsible for marketing and support since the foundation of the company in 1990, moving to BMW R-R after six years as vice-president of International Aero Engines.
