Boeing has restructured its Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) sector into three business units. Precision Engagement and Mobility Systems, with John Lockhard as president, includes Boeing’s combat, transport, maritime and surveillance aircraft and rotorcraft. Networks and Space Systems, with Roger Krone as president, includes army combat systems, command-and-control networks, missile defence, satellites, launch vehicles and space exploration. Support Systems, with Pat Finneran as president, includes maintenance and modification, upgrades, training and logistics systems and international business operations. Lockhard and Krone will be based in the Washington DC area, and Finneran in St Louis, Missouri. IDS has also formed Advanced Defense and Security Systems, with George Muellner as president, including all advanced programmes and linked to Boeing’s Phantom Works research organisation to develop technologies needed by the three business units.
