Boeing has decided to slow production of the 747-8 later this year in response to weak demand for large freighter and passenger aircraft.
Monthly output of the 747-8 Freighter and passenger-carrying Intercontinental will slow to 1.75 per month in early 2014, a 12.5% reduction from the current rate of two per month.
The change should not have a "significant financial impact", Boeing says.
The announcement comes two months after Boeing warned in a regulatory filing that it would have to reduce 747-8 production or build unsold aircraft due to weak demand in the cargo market.
Boeing still has orders for 46 747-8s in the delivery stream, with 64 aircraft already delivered.
