The aviation industry's achievements of the past year were recognised at the sixth Flight International Aerospace Industry Awards last night in Paris.

In what was a stunning and eventful evening at Le Musée des Arts Forains, Bercy, the winners and finalists in the 11 categories - including the 1999 Aerospace Personality of the Year - received their awards. But the night belonged to Boeing as it won three awards and was named finalist twice.

The winners were selected from a record number of entries by an independent panel of judges comprising experts from all sectors of the aerospace industry.
