Boeing will join the Lockheed Martin-General Dynamics team competing for the US Navy's Mobile User Objective System (MUOS), a multi-satellite constellation to replace the Boeing-built UHF Follow-On military communications fleet. The MUOS contract will be awarded in 2004, leading to initial operational capability in 2008 and full capability in 2013.
