The first 737-900 for launch customer Alaska Airlines is being prepared by Boeing for its scheduled May delivery. The 177-seat stretch derivative is the first of 11 737-900s Alaska has on order for delivery through to April 2003. The new aircraft will initially be used to accommodate passenger growth on routes between Seattle and Anchorage in Alaska, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
