Emirates is reported as planning at the very least to announce a huge order for Boeing 777-300ERs at the Dubai Air Show next week.
The Seattle Times newspaper says the Dubai-based carrier will order "up to" 26 of the type.
Emirates already has 30 777-300ERs in the process of being delivered, but the majority of those are leased from GECAS and ILFC. It also has a number of options with GECAS.
Neither Emirates nor Boeing commented on the story and it is not clear how the order would be configured.
The airline is also in an advanced stage of assessing the Boeing 787 - particularly a Boeing proposal for a stretched version - and the Airbus A350.
