An agreement between Boeing and Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) on joint production of the Arrow 2 anti-ballistic missile may expedite the deployment of a third battery of the weapon in Israel. The initial contract will include the joint production of 300 Arrow 2 missiles. Boeing will be responsible for production of about 50% of the Arrow missile components in the USA, while IAI, prime contractor of the Arrow system, will be responsible for integration and final assembly in Israel. The US government has approved a budget to help Israel acquire enough missiles for its defence. The funds will be channelled through IAI.
