Boeing recently joined the front and rear fuselage sections to the wing section of the first Boeing 757-300 on the assembly line at its factory in Renton, Washington. The stretched version of the 757-200 has an overall length of 54.4m, making it the largest single aisle twinjet yet built. The first example is scheduled to be rolled out in May, and to fly in July. German charter airline Condor will introduce the type in January 1999.
