Bombardier has reinforced its bid to become the main contender for the UK MoD's Airborne Stand-Off Radar (ASTOR)

Speaking at a briefing at Farnborough yesterday, Bob Brown, Bombardier Aerospace president and chief operating officer, outlined the Canadian firm's strong links with the UK and emphasised the potential strengths of the Global Express against its competitors. It was a view that Business Aircraft division president Mike Graff was keen to elaborate on.

"We will be successful," says Graff. "Global Express meets all the requirements. It has 25% more cabin volume than its competitors and has twice the electrical power. It clearly offers the best choice."
