Bombardier Aerospace is cutting 1,980 staff, including 20% of its management, and reducing production levels "to adjust its cost structure". Job losses will be 915 in Montreal, 365 in Toronto, 240 in Belfast, 210 in Tucson, 50 in Wichita and 200 at other locations. The company will cut production of components at Belfast, the Challenger 604 in Montreal, Dash 8 and Global Express in Toronto, and Learjet 45 and Learjet 60 at Witchita. Bombardier says Challenger 300 and Learjet 40 development programmes and entry-into-service schedules will not be affected by the changes.
