Bombardier Business Jet Solutions has taken delivery of the first Canadair Challenger 604 for use in its FlexJet fractional-ownership programme. The delivery boosts the number of aircraft operated by the Bombardier/AMR Combs joint venture to 22, including eight Learjet 31A light business jets, nine mid-sized Learjet 60s and three wide-body Challenger 601-3R aircraft.

Business Jet Solutions was established in April 1995, selling part-shares in Bombardier aircraft to be operated by AMR Combs.

Part owners pay monthly management and hourly utilisation fees, while aircraft maintenance, crews, hangars, fuel and insurance, are provided by the joint venture.

"We have seen significant demand from first-time buyers in our first 18 months of operation, but we're also helping corporate flight departments when executive travel-demands warrant the use of supplemental or larger aircraft," says Business Jet Solutions president Robert Gillespie.
