With three new products appearing at Farnborough for the first time, Bombardier Aerospace is here on a roll. A record business year, during which the company has certificated two aircraft, is culminating in the company's biggest ever presence at Farnborough.

Pride of place in the eight-aircraft line-up from Bombardier is the Global Express, which flew in from Montreal and which is scheduled to appear in the flying display today.

The world's fastest ultra-long-range jet (see separate story), designed for non-stop flights such as London-Singapore and Sydney-Los Angeles, was certificated in July. The manufacturer has 80 firm orders for the aircraft.

The other aircraft wholly new to the show is the Learjet 45 which, like the Global Express, was certificated only very recently.

"This has to be the first time that any manufacturer, whether corporate, regional or even on the defence side, has brought two all-new products to the show," says Bombardier. "It's not happened before and we are very proud to be doing that."

From the Bombardier Regional Aircraft stable comes the latest Dash 8 version, the Q400 78-seat aircraft which is on static display with its sister aircraft the Q200 and Q300. All three variants are sporting the noise and vibration suppression system.

Also at the show are two Challengers, the company's own demonstrator and an aircraft in the colours of the Royal Danish Air Force.

While this aircraft is used as a long-range VIP transport, the air force has also ordered three Challengers for multi-mission roles.
