Bombardier ended 2013 with net orders for 81 commercial aircraft, down by 40% on the previous year's total of 138, but increased commercial deliveries by five to 55.
Its firm order customers included Ilyushin Finance and Iraqi Airways for the new CSeries twinjet. The company gained net orders for 34 CSeries, as well as 30 CRJs and 17 Q400 turboprops.
Bombardier also took 305 net orders for business jets, compared with 343 in the prior year, and delivered 180 aircraft to customers in the sector - one more than in 2012 but below its guidance figure.
It attributes the delivery shortfall in business jets to transition between the Learjet 40XR and 45XR to the Learjet 70 and 75.
Bombardier blames a "persistently sluggish" economy for the weaker order total of 388, nearly 100 aircraft down on 2012, but aerospace president Guy Hachey says: "Despite this difficult environment, we put in a solid performance overall."
