Bombardier Aerospace's top CSeries salesman, Gary Scott, has announced he will retire from the company on 1 October.
Scott, who has held the title of Bombardier Commercial Aircraft President since April 2008, said: "The CSeries aircraft program is tracking well, and with the programme at this advanced stage, I feel very comfortable leaving it in the capable hands of my colleagues so I can devote more time to my family."
Guy Hachey, president and chief operating officer at Bombardier Aerospace, will lead the Commercial Aircraft business unit until a replacement for Scott is named.
Scott first joined Bombardier in 2004 as president, new commercial aircraft programme, after more than 30 years in the aerospace industry, first with Boeing and subsequently CAE.
"Gary [Scott] has been an incredible asset to our organization and, through his leadership, has helped us develop game-changing products and a strong international customer base," said Hachey. "We wish him and his family well, and thank him for his valuable contribution to Bombardier and to the aerospace industry."
To date, Bombardier has secured 133 firm orders for the CSeries. The airframer expects to win some 300 firm orders for the new twinjet by the time it enters into service in 2013, Scott has previously said.
