Russia's prosecutor general Vladimir Ustinov is reported in the government journal Rossiyskaya Gazeta as saying that Chechen suicide bomber Dzheberkhanova bought her ticket for the 24 August flight she sabotaged from another passenger bound for Sochi on a different date. Ustinov reports she used this ticket for the doomed Sibir Tupolev Tu-154B-2 flight from Moscow Domodedovo to Sochi by bribing a Sibir representative to re-issue the ticket in her name. Sibir confirms that the ticket was re-issued, but that in Russia sales of domestic air tickets are allowed without a passport check. The bomber passed through boarding security checks, but it is thought she had a Shakhid strip containing between 300g (11oz) and 500g of the explosive hexogen on her or in her hand luggage.
