Belgium is to put a limited number of Lockheed Martin F-16s at NATO's disposal for participation in the alliance's policing of airspace over Bosnia. Initially, up to five aircraft will be sent to the NATO airbase at Vicenza in Italy, where they will be integrated in the Dutch squadron already deployed. The aircraft will replace Dutch F-16s for at least a three-month period. The Belgian and the Dutch Governments have signed an agreement on a joint task force to be engaged in possible future military operations in Africa or the former Yugoslavia.
