Virgin Atlantic's flamboyant chairman Sir Richard Branson brought his own brand of razzmatazz to Farnborough yesterday, arriving on his airline's first Airbus A340-600, waving the Union Flag out of the cockpit window.
His day had started at 6am with an early morning VIP party at Virgin's London Heathrow Airport hangar, where supermodel Claudia Schiffer had named the aircraft "Claudia Nine", before flying to the show with a plane-load of guests and media.
