Russian cosmonauts aboard the Mir 1 space station deployed a giant inflatable replica of a Pepsi Cola can on 20 May under a multi-million advertising deal struck between the US drinks company and the Russian Space Agency. Film of two spacewalkers working outside the Mir 1 with the 1.2m-high inflatable will be used for a publicity campaign.
