British European is hoping to forge a link with Delta Air Lines through a codeshare agreement as it expands its partnership with the US airline's SkyTeam alliance partner Air France.
British European chief executive Barry Perrott says he is keen to work with Delta and become part of the Air France/Delta lead SkyTeam alliance. The UK regional airline is looking to link in with Delta's transatlantic services to London Gatwick, from where British European operates to Jersey, Guernsey and Belfast.
Meanwhile British European and Air France will announce this week a broadening of their long running codeshare and franchise partnership, concentrating on codeshare services from London City and Belfast City airports.
