The US Department of Transportation has turned down a request by Continental Airlines to delay the launch of services to Buenos Aires and will instead hold a fast-track process to select another carrier. It has invited carriers to apply for the seven weekly US-Argentina frequencies that become available on 1 December. American, Delta and United Airlines have already expressed interest and others are free to apply as well.
