LATITUDE LIFT FOR CRANE
Cessna has selected Crane Aerospace & Electronics to provide the brake control system for its Citation Latitude midsize business jet. Preliminary specifications project the aircraft will operate at airports with runway lengths as short as 3,900ft (1,190m). First flight of the Citation Latitude prototype is scheduled for mid-2014, leading to US certification and service entry the following year.
FLEXJET'S FIRM ORDER
Bombardier Flexjet has placed a firm order for three Learjet 70 business jets. The Dallas, Texas-based operator announced plans in May to become the fractional launch customer for the new light jet and the superlight Learjet 75 - derivatives of the Learjet 40 series. Flexjet's aircraft will feature its new interior design updates, including honey-coloured wood and light beige leather seats. The aircraft will also be equipped with wi-fi and pop-up touchscreen monitors.
EMBRAER EXPANDS DESIGN
Embraer has opened an expanded design suite at its Melbourne, Florida-based customer centre, designed to offer a "best in class" experience for customers designing interiors of its Phenom, Legacy and Lineage business jets. Embraer says the customer centre will cover customer sales, design and delivery.
REPAIR STATION APPROVALS
Jet Aviation Zurich has received repair station approvals from the Togo National Civil Aviation Agency and the Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority - paving the way for the General Dynamics-owned company to provide maintenance support on a range of Cessna Citations and Hawker Beechcraft types which are registered in those countries.
CHINA ACCEPTS EXECUJET
ExecuJet Haite Aviation Services China has been approved as a Part 145 maintenance facility by the Civil Aviation Administration of China. The approval enables ExecuJet Haite to carry out maintenance activities on most Bombardier business jets.
