SENIORS RESIGN

Two senior managers have resigned at Swiss business aviation services provider Jet Aviation. Theo Staub, president and chief operating officer, and Colin Bond, chief financial officer, both of whom led the restructuring of Jet Aviation's North American operation earlier this year, are leaving to "seek new challenges", says the company. Bond will be succeeded by Dr Hartwig Grevener, who will join on 2 August, while a replacement has yet to be found for Staub. Meanwhile, the company has added 10 aircraft to its US managed fleet, including a Dassault Falcon 900EX and a Bombardier Challenger 300.

SIA SIMULATOR

Singapore Airlines has added a second Bombardier Learjet 45 full-flight simulator to its Singapore Flying College in Maroochydore, Queensland. The A$20 million ($15 million) CAE-built simulator will allow an extra 120 pilots to be trained each year. Cadet pilots complete their transition to main fleet commercial aircraft pilots at Maroochydore after initial training in Singapore and at the airline's second Australian flying college at Perth's Jandakot airport in Western Australia. Since opening in August 2002, the Queensland college has graduated 470 cadet pilots through the advanced jet pilot training course and 48 senior first officers.

SPORT-JET RESTART

Excel-Jet has restarted development of the Sport-Jet single-engined very light jet in the belief that wake turbulence caused the proof-of-concept aircraft to crash on take-off from Colorado Springs on 12 July. The US National Transportation Safety Board has yet to complete its investigation of the accident.
