BBA expands
BBA Aviation, owner of the Signature Flight Support fixed-base operator chain, has expanded its portfolio of business aviation services companies with the acquisition of US FBO and sales company Executive Beechcraft. The deal includes four FBOs in the Midwest as well as Executive's aircraft inventory, maintenance, charter/management and aircraft sales businesses that cover the Beechcraft, Cirrus, Hawker and Mooney brands. BBA has no plans to bring Executive Beechcraft into the Signature stable due, it says, to the company's strong brand and heritage.
Mustang first
The founder of Goode Ski Technologies has become the first retail customer for the Cessna Citation Mustang. The handover marks the third delivery of the entry-level jet from Cessna's Independence, Kansas facility. The first two aircraft are being used as demonstrators by Cessna, which plans to deliver up to 40 Mustangs this year. Meanwhile, Cessna's Citation and Caravan fleets have exceeded time-in-service milestones of 20 million and 10 million flight hours respectively. Nearly 5,000 Citation business jets have been delivered since the first aircraft entered service 35 years ago, while 1,650 Caravan single-engined turboprops have been delivered in just over two decades.
